Arrastra y suelta sobre la interfaz del programa la pieza de audio que hayas grabado previamente con un instrumento musical o inserta una perteneciente a la extraordinaria galería de medios que incluye el programa. Ésta organiza las piezas por instrumentos, aunque es necesario tener conexión a Internet para poder descargarlas.
El siguiente paso es colocar las pistas de forma ordenada, determinar su repetición y seleccionar el ritmo de la composición.
Acoustica Mixcraft también permite aplicar distintos efectos de sonido a las piezas resultantes: reverberación, retardo, flanger, etcétera. La aplicación es compatible con los loops de Acid y Apple Garage Band.
